These images stray from the typical photos glorifying the Nazi leaders and havoc of the war. The Polish-Jews living in Nazi-occupied Poland seemed to trust Jaeger enough to capture their sometimes smiling faces as they tried to make the best of their situation and rebuild their lives during 1939-40, unaware of the fate that lay ahead.
